you can also drop them in Data, even if there is already a "Meshes" folder your files will simply be merged with that one. If you have multiple folders such as "Meshes", "Textures", "Sounds", etc. So you will be dropping your files in Fallout4/data. Inside of that folder is one called data. You have a fallout 4 folder under steamapps/common/Fallout4. Originally posted by jhamric1989:Very easy. Have spent hours trying to get my game to work w/ past modding experiences lol. Hardly do I ever manually install anything. I usually install all my mods through NMM whenever I use it (used MO for a while, was too lazy to really get the gist of it). I cant even count how many times Ive done something and simply revert to my backup as the fix. Once you get it working, BACK UP YOUR ENTIRE INSTALL. If you do manage to ignore my advice and end up modding manually anyways. Going back to vanilla takes some fancy folder re-arranging versus a few clicks. So instead of the method mentioned above I edit the actual Plugins.txt file located in appdata.ĥ. Stay away from bethesdas mod menu, It likes to mess your load order. You simply need to use your downloaded mod files to find the actual ones you installed and delete them if something goes wrong.Ĥ. Don't expect help either, Best you will get is "use NMM".ģ. Especially the complicated ones with optional files and patches. If you cannot read the actual FOMOD scripting language, You will never figure out how to install mods that are FOMOD only. Not all mods are straight forward either.Ģ. There is simply too much going on to keep track, Definetly not recommended for new modders. If you do not know exactly what you are doing, You WILL break your game at some point. This is how you do it manually, I have done it this way since Oblivion in 2006, let me say a few things first to save you some headache.ġ.
